The University of Wisconsin - Whitewater, UW - Whitewater or UWW, is a four-year, co-educational, residential college located in Whitewater, which is a city in Jefferson and Walworth counties, in Wisconsin state, USA, with over 13 400 people, living within its limits, as estimated during the 2000 census.
The university was established in 1868 and was originally called Whitewater Normal School. It adopted it present name, after it became part of the University of Wisconsin System, in 1971.
